Wazi means clear, or open, in Kiswahili. That's exactly what's missing the second an unknown number lights up your screen, and it's the whole reason this app exists.
It started as frustration, not a business plan.
A phone that wouldn't stop ringing with betting blasts, fake-prize texts, scam callbacks and lender harassment. It interrupted work, family time, the moments meant for focus. And the phone itself offered nothing: a row of digits, no context, no spam folder, no help at all.
Every app that promised to fix it wanted something we didn't think anyone should have to give up. The popular caller-ID apps get their accuracy by uploading your entire phonebook: your family's numbers, your customers', everyone who ever trusted you with their contact, and passing that data onward. For those apps, giving up your privacy wasn't a side effect. It was the price of admission.
We weren't willing to pay it, and we didn't think anyone else should have to either.
Private by default. Fast even when the data runs out. And honest about the limits of what it knows.
Your phone.
Your rules. Your privacy.
The promise that started this doesn't change, whatever we add.
Caller ID, spam and scam warnings, a sorted message inbox and Focus Shield, built around how Kenya actually calls, texts and pays.
Sharper warnings as more people report numbers, a wider set of verified businesses, and deeper protection for your messages. Never at the cost of your contacts.
Free to start. Your contacts never leave your phone.
